Club
Fitting
Why
do I need custom fitted golf clubs?
Everyone
is unique. Like fingerprints, no two golfers swing exactly the
same. When you buy clubs off the rack, you are buying a "one
club fits all" set which was mass produced on an assembly
line. Sure, you can play golf with the clubs and they look fine
in your golf bag, but they are not built to fit your swing. If
you line up three golfers with the same handicap on the practice
range and have them swing an identical club, each golfer will
have a different stance, swing speed, shaft load, swing plane,
etc. Each swing characteristic can be measured by a professional
club maker who them matches the proper shaft to your individual
swing characteristics.
All
club fitting sessions will begin with an interview to determine
your objectives for the fitting, and then we will measure you
and your golf equipment. All fittings are performance based. This
means this fitting is individualized for you and maximizing your
golfing performance.
Club
fitting may not be available at all locations (see calendar)
Woods:
The swing analysis for the woods is primarily focused on the driving
club. Using the launch monitor we will determine the optimum shaft
parameters: length, the shaft flex, bend profile, weight, torque
and material.
Head: optimum loft, design, size, face angle, weight
Grip: Size and comfort
Irons
and hybrids: Information gathered here will determine the
remainder of your set make up beyond the driver
Shaft: length, flex, bend profile, weight, torque, materials
Head: Lie angle, loft correction, design, look, make up,
MOI, swingweight, also wedges and how many of what loft
Grip: size, comfort
Putter:
The first objective is to get you set up over the ball correctly,
primarily determined by your dominant eye. Next, determine a comfortable
functional length and a corrected lie. Then, establish the effective
loft so the putter head lies flat and square to you as a target
for your stance and set up. And finally determine the size and
style of the grip.
